What Causes Severe Concussions After A Subdural Hematoma Caused By An Accidental Fall?
I just had a horrible fall that ended up with a subdural hematoma that stopped bledding but now dealing with severe concusiion and [ost concussion issues. I have had previous (3) severe concussions along with major brain surgery. once the bleeding got absorbed by my brain where does it go? is it normal for me to be getting black eyes, slurred speech, and behavorial issues like being edgy, nausea, sleepiness and such? shoudl I be watching things closly?
The material absorbed from subdural hematomas go back into the body to be recycled or eliminated as possible except for the heme portion of the blood cells which tend to stay behind in the brain.
There will always be some small residual of the Iron from the blood that escaped into the brain/beneath the skull since that cannot be reabsorbed or eliminated.
If you've had several concussions then, it is certainly possible to have many of the symptoms you are mentioning as part of the post-concussive syndrome or even as a result of brain damage. However, other things should also be considered and ruled out when it comes to slurred speech, nauseousness, and excessive sleepiness.
