What Causes Severe Back Pain, Bloating And Prolonged Menstruation Post An Intercourse?

Hi! I recently started to b sexually active and my bf insisted that we tried protected sex during the last day of my period bcz he was too horny. I had some weird brown discharge the next day. Days later, I had abdominal and back pain. It worsened to severe bloating,cramps, sharp gas pain, etc... I took a pt that came out Neg. and my period came super heavy 1week early. Today s the 6th day and it is getting pretty light (like it should b over 2morrow). During my first few years of having it, it used to last abt 5 (4-6)days total. Recent yrs was 3-5 days. This time, it feels longer and heavier. I never used to have any types of PMS whatsoever. All ofthis happened to me for the irst time in life. Could it b my body and hormones changing bcz I m 21 and I had sex? Or Could I b preggo or bleeding inside? I am worried because I am so confused and not financially ready for that step.

Thanks for posting your query. In the current scenario, pregnancy seems to be a remote possibility. Firstly, you had the intercourse during your safe period. Secondly, you had another period after this incident. The most likely cause of this abnormal menstrual pattern is an infection, stress leading to hormone imbalance and gastric disturbances seem to be associated. Please get a sonogram of the pelvis, preferably in the trans-vaginal route to know the status of the pelvic organs and plan further management. Styptics can be used to control the bleeding. Hormone course may be needed if deemed so after a proper clinical evaluation. Hope this helps.
