What Causes Severe Back Pain Along With Difficulty In Breathing?

I ve been working out my back at the gym for two of the past four days, and today I went to a trampoline park to work gymnastics into my schedule - within the first 10 minutes, I started feeling pain in my mid-to-upper back every time I landed. The pain grew exponentially throughout the next hour or so, until it started severely disturbing my breathing, which became shallow and labored. Now, after the workout, even during a simple jogging motion, I feel pain in my back on every landed step, and the breathing is still in the same condition. A bruised rib seems off the table since no trauma preceded the start of the pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi, i've read your question and understand your concerns. From the details that you have mentioned in your querry. the most likely possiblities for your upper back pain could be a muscle sprain, or a minor vertebral fracture. Further investigations such as an x-ray or a CT scan could rule out the later condition.
The shallow breathing that you mentioned could be due to limitations of the chest movement due to pain. Or in a worst case scenario a nerve injury could also be a cause which seems very unlikely in your case.

its always better to consult your doctor for further investigations.
wish you a speedy recovery.
