What Causes Severe Anxiety?

I am a 19 year old female. About a week ago I started feeling really nervous for no reason. It is non stop 24/7 and it’s exhausting. It makes my stomach hurt, I feel nauseous, makes me feel like I have to go to the bathroom all the time, my heart rate increases, makes me sweat, “butterflies”, I feel nervous and worried, I get light headed. I can’t eat because my stomach feels funny and I lose my appetite. I can’t enjoy anything anymore because all I can think about is how my stomach hurts and how I feel extremely nervous. It takes all of my energy to fight this. I have never felt like this in my entire life. I just want it to stop. I find myself pacing back and forth because I can’t sit still. This is scary and unbearable, I’d rather be shot. I can’t see a doctor until next month; do you have any idea what this is?

Hello thanks for asking from HEALTH CARE MAGIC

You have complaints of nervousness without any reason. The nervousness is persisting and is exhausting. You have symptoms of abdominal upset, feelings of butterflies in stomach, worriedness, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, lack of energy to do anything. These symptoms has resulted in significant loss in day to day functioning. After reading your history it appears that these symptoms are most likely occurring due to mild depression and anxiety disorder, though to make proper diagnosis detailed evaluation is needed. For this I would advise you to visit a psychiatrist for help.

Such symptoms should improve with a trial of anti-depressant drugs like SSRIs. These drugs are also used in anxiety. Drugs as Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, Sertraline etc are commonly used in depression. Along with medicines non-medicinal psychological treatment in form of Relaxation Exercises, Yoga, Meditation etc is also equally efficacious in such symptoms.

Visit a psychiatrist for prescription of drugs and for treatment.

Thanks, hope this helps you
