I played hockey today and put my foot up against a fence to stop myself having been running at full pelt. I briefly felt some pain and discomfort however was able to play on. Several hours later after walking about and driving my car (it s the left ankle (clutch) I am in excruciating pain and throbbing around the entire ankle joint to the point where I can not put any weight on it. Having experienced various sprains and sporting injuries over the years I have a good knowledge and understanding of my body. I m also a medic as part of my profession however can not work out what I have done this time, especially as I was able to carry on playing and pain free for sometime after the match. Any ideas?
