What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain While On Oxycodone?

I am a 69 year old female. I have had fibromyalgia for approximately 8 to 10 years. for quite a while I was on hydrocodone and the dosages steadily increased as the symptoms increased. about 1 1/2 years ago, I was changed over to oxycodone. I went from 5 mg twice a day to 20 mg 4 times a day. I am now also experiencing severe abdominal pain. I had a CT scan and the results showed no blockage, perforations, no ulcers and no other problems. Could the abdominal pain be from an opiod dependency?

Hello,

Hydrocodone may also contain Paracetamol which may cause liver toxicity. Hydrocodone may cause nausea and vomiting. Most commonly present like constipation.

Use tablet Pantaprazole before breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroenterologist he will do endoscopy then treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
