What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps And Delay In Periods?

I have been having severe cramps for about three days. I have had some very very light spotting and one small clot but no period and am about 5days late. Should I see my doctor? Or do you think it s just a slow start to my period for some reason? I have irregular periods so 5 days late is not totally uncommon. I am really most worried about the severity of the cramps. I don t usually get them and when I do they are for one day at the start of a heavy period. This is day three and I haven t even had enough blood to show in the stool.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe abdominal cramps and delay in periods . Well I have gone through your query . Delayed periods, abdominal cramps and increased appetite might be suggestive of pregnancy. so you might be pregnant. You should do a urine pregnancy test (UPT) to confirm this. This test can be done at home by pregnancy kits available in market. You should always do by using first urine sample of the morning. The abdominal cramp can also occur due to UTI or gastric problem . Consult urologist for UTI and gastroenterologist for gastric problem .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
