What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps And Blurred Vision Post Intake Of Midol?

This morning I took a midol to help with normal period cramps and then I started to feel an increase in my cramps until I could stand anymore. So I sat in a chair for a couple minutes but when I stood up I go unbearably hot. My stepmom said I was cold to the touch and when she took my temperature it was 95.2° which is WAY lower than my normal 98.8°. I laid on the cold tile floor until I decided maybe a shower would help but on my way to the bathroom my eyes went blurry and I couldn t hear anything and I collapsed. I crawled into the shower and laid there until I felt strong enough to put on a tank top and shorts. I climbed into my bed with severe pains in my lower abdomen and a cold sweat. I couldn t get comfortable and I couldn t get rid of the pain. I pulled my covers on to try and break the cold sweat and it helped and eventually the spell ended. But I d like to know what it was that happened exactly. I m a 16 year old girl. Can you please help?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of severe abdominal cramps and blurred vision post intake of Midol . There can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like eating a lot of dairy products, lack of fibres in diet, irritable bowel syndrome, some medications like antidepressants, and acidity.Need not to worry. For now drink lot of water , do light exercises and avoid fatty and heavy meals. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order colonoscopy or other tests to look for blockages in your colon , barium studies and blood test for hormonal changes. Doctor may prescribe osmotic laxatives , stool softeners and medicine to reduce acidity. The symptoms can also occur due to side effects of certain medicine as you are taking midol, so consult concerned doctor and discuss the condition with him/her.
