What causes severe abdominal bloating and constipation?

my son 27 years old has bad digestive issues a colonoscopy came out fine and an edoscope (bad acid reflux) showed cell changes (not good I know). he is 25 years old and very thin (has lost weight over the years) and does not eat much (I think he is afraid he will have pain). He is consitpated and gets bloated immediately when he eats. What is up?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of severe abdominal bloating and constipation which seems to be either infection or inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. It could be due to disturbed electrolyte imbalance in body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with proton pump inhibitors and antacids such as Pantoprazole along with domperidone. You should take oral rehydration solution for maintaining the hydration and electrolyte balance of the body. Avoid intake of large foods and try to prefer small and frequent meals. You should consult gastroenterologist once and get complete blood investigations done. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. Take plain and soft food and avoid hot, sharp and spicy food substances.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
