What Causes Server Cough?
I am a 68 year old female 300 lbs. I have problems almost daily with coughing till I retch. I feel like I am going to vomit but all that come up is water. Once I retch, the coughing stops. This just seems like it comes out of nowhere, I also get the feeling of fullness, like my food doesn;t want to go down sometimes. Also after I retch, it is like a faucet has veen turned on and I cough up flem or mucus that seems to have been blocked. It seems to come from my throat not my lungs. Can you help me.

In my opinion you should go for investigations like chest x ray, ECG and PFT . I think you are having GERD and you should start abtacids medication, loose some weight, avoid havy meals etc. And consult pulmonologist with all this reports.
