What Causes Sensitivity To Smell Along With Bad Breath?

to begin - i do not feel least bit congested, I have seasonal allergies that I take allegra for and i use a netty pot 1-2 a week depending on my condition. last i used it was 5 days ago. yesterday i noticed this weird smell - though it was the person talking to me. but they went away and I still smell it - smelled it over night and i have an odd taste in my mouth. but i keep checkig my breath and my breath does not smell bad ? what the heck - it is like the smell is inside my head ?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain it seems that you have infection in your sinuses leading to Sinusitis and as the sinuses drain through the nose there is a bad smell in nose and post nasal drip is causing foul taste in mouth..

You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and in case if sinusitis is confirmed as a diagnosis he can advise you to take antibiotics like Azithromycin or Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, saline nasal sprays, steam inhalations.

I would suggest you to add a few drops of eucalyptus il in the water used for steam after it boils up as it will add up a fresh breath..
Gargle with a flavoured antimicrobial mouthwash for masking bad smell in mouth..
