What Causes Sensitivity To Cold In The Legs And Feet?

My mother suffers from extreme sensitivity to cold especially in her lower legs and feet. It does not matter how many layers she wears or if it is actually cold. What could be causing this and what could be done about it. It is affecting her ability to go places except stay under her electric blanket and stay in her 82 degree bedroom. She does take thyroid medication and her blood tests indicate she is at an acceptable level.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your mother may have hypothyroidism, hypotension, autonomic neuropathy, some rare cases of viral fever, in some uncontrolled diabetic patients. You didn't mention whether she had any hypertension or diabetes. Best consult your general physician so that adjust the dosage of her medication if above both are negative.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
