What Causes Seizures With Borderline Potassium Levels?

I was recently hospitalized and in High Dependency with very low potassium and sodium levels. This had resulted in a seizure but I am now on the mend. My medication was changed because they cited blood pressure medication as having been the cause of this. I have been to my GP practice every two weeks to have my bloods checked. My results this time have said that my potassium levels are borderline Is this a cause for concern and what can I do to avoid a further episode. I am very anxious about this. Thanks

Hello thank you for posting your query in HMC.
potassium and sodium are the electrolytes in the the body that helps in muscle contractions and fluid balance in the body. high or low levels of these electrolytes causes the neurons or nerves of the brain irritable or hyperactivity
leading to irregular contraction of the facial muscles, hand, leg muscles there by producing a seizure like activity. along with medication, a healthy diet with regular exercises will be helpful. diet rich in sodium and potassium should be taken. green leafy vegetables have good amount of sodium. yellow coloured small sized banana has good amounts of potassium.
