What causes seizure in a child? Degenerating hip bones. Painful bruise on inner thigh. Reason?

any ideas on what would cause a seizure in a child who normally does not suffer from these? the child also has been seen by orthopedic docs because her hip bone is degenerating. The child has been complaining of a painful bruise on her inner thigh that will turn purple and red, but then disappear after a while? or any ideas of what direction we should start exploring
