What Causes Sciatica Like Pain In Leg After Undergoing Disc Removal?

Hi, I had disectomy 2 years ago L4/5 the disc was removed completely. The past 3 weeks I have had problems walking and it feels a little like sciatica but my left leg is so painful and i think it maybe considered claudication. I am worried that I may be more at risk from spinal stenosis because of my history?

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

My name is Dr. Aida and I am glad to attend you on Healthcaremagic!

I agree with you on the fact that your symptoms could be related to a spinal canal stenosis. For this reason, it is necessary consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and performing a lumbar spine MRI study to exclude this possible disorder. If this test results normal, I would recommend performing a Doppler ultrasound of the leg vessels to exclude possible peripheral arteriopathy, which may mimic this clinical situation.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes!
