What Causes Scanty Menstrual Bleeding After Stopping Birth Control Pills?

Hello I have a pregnancy question
I stopped taking my birth control and then I could feel changes in my body after ovulation, then exactly a month later I thought I got my period but it was definitely lighter than usual but seemed to be more than implantation? So I assumed it was a weird period then it ended in three days and never got heavy, a day after it ended I tested and got a strong positive but then I tested again in five days and I'm uncertain if it's negative now but I haven't bled since and still feel symptoms .. Any ideas?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Slight menstrual irregularities including scanty periods can happen after stopping birth control pills. Generally, it will settle by itself without any definite treatment.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
