What Causes Runny Nose And Cough Followed By Difficulty In Breathing?

My son is 8 years old. During last month he had an episode of forceful breathing. He had cough, doctor had given him some medicines and twice a day nebulizer. He got alright then. But now for the past 4 days he is having same symptoms, though we took precuations. It started with blocked nose and then runny nose, then cough and now he is having difficulty in breathing. One doctor said it is spasmatic bronchitis and another said it is allergic bronchitis. Can you tell me why he is suffering, what is the cause and also name the problem. What precuations should I take to avoid such incidents in future. Thanks

Hi,
it is possible that your son is suffering from bronchitis. at his age it is due to allergy.
upper respiratory tract infections are the most common trigger in children.
it cannot be prevented by taking precautions.
eventually he will outgrow it.
till then he should benebulised when ever necessary.
