What Causes Running Nose And Itchy Eyelids Upon Intake Of Amoxicillin?
I am taking Amoxicillin 500mg every 8 hrs. first 3 days then 250mg after for infected tooth and gum. Finishing second day and eyelids became itchy and nose running (but stopped). Dentist away seeing him day after tomorrow. Should I continue Amoxicillin or is this an allergic reaction where I should stop or should I go to the 250mg dose. Thank you for help.
Itching eyelids and runny nose seems to be a side effect of it.. So my suggestion to you is to stop taking Amoxicillin and take anti allergics like Benadryl to control itching..
As you have a tooth infection you can take some alternate antibiotics like Cephexime, doxycycline, Clindamycin etc after consulting an Emergency room as these are prescription drugs..
Once you can reach your dentist discuss with him about the symptoms and along with antibiotics you should also get the treatment of the tooth initiated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
