What Causes Round Black Color Bruise On Forearm?

I have a round bruise on my left forearm about 2 inches in diameter. It is black in color. In the center on it the is a skin color circle the size of a dime, with a knot in it. I don t remember hit it or getting hit by anything. Any ideas what could have caused it?
