What Causes Rise In Heart Rate During Sleep?

I m 37-year-old white female in good physical condition. For as long as I can remember, I tend to wake up in a pool of sweat probably four or five nights every week. I recently started wearing a heart rate monitor when I sleep and I noticed that during the night my resting heart rate increases, not to the degree that it s racing but certainly there is a marked increase throughout the night of about 8 to 10 bpm from the first hour after I sleep until two or three hours before I wake up. Unfortunately I don t pay attention to hydration as much as I should and I do drink caffeine at different hours of the day, but could this increased heart rate throughout the night be contributing to the night sweats?
