What Causes Ringing In Ear With Severe Pain?
I was slapped in the ear about a week ago. Everything was sounding muffled from that ear After the slap in about 8 hours my hearing came back to normal and the loud ringing faded away back into the background (it never completely stopped). However today i woke up and noticed that I had a strong ringing and a hearing loss in the high pitch frequencies. Is this because of the intensity of the slap or is it something that would be unrelated to the slap?

hello, thanks for your query,slap injury on cheek can cause perforation in tympanic membrane , ossicular distruption, on inner ear injury leading to permanent deafness. kindly visit an ent surgeon for evaluation and treatment.all the best. take care.
