What Causes Restless Leg Syndrome?

My feet are swelling and itchy, especially on the balls of my feet. My roommate who shares my bathroom has foot problems similar and LOT worse, had pins in her feet and restless leg syndrome. Anyway, could it be parasites? I don t think it s a fungal infection.
