my 9 year old son developed a pimple on his nose in november, since then upto now it has regulary flared up and become quite red and sore then dries up and becomes hard until it flares up again, i have previously used savalon and tea tree but i'm now worried that it may have become a cyst.
Your 9 year son has impetigo on nose most probably. You consult dermatologist or paediarician to have firm diagnosis. The lesion starts as reddish bump and progress to pustular lesion and ultimately crusted lesion. Your son has relapses of impetigo on nose. And the reason may be deprived systemic and local immunity.
Blood tests may be done to rule out any internal disease. Hygiene should be improved. Daily bath in warm water mixed with dettol liquid. All antiseptic precautions should be taken. Immunity may be improved with good nutrition, immunoboosters and excercise.
Oral antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs and local antibiotic cream should be considered. Also apply the antibiotic cream in nostril to reduce the bacterial flora in nostril.
I hope this would be helpful to you in managing disease in your child.
Thanks.
