What Causes Redness And Swelling Under Fingernails Of Ring Fingers?

About 4 days ago redness and swelling appeared under the fingernails of my ring fingers (right hand and left hand). There was no trauma injury or punctures. This initially started a slight numbness and redness that has graduated to 85% of the nail is a pronounced red. It appears as though on one hand the nail bed is inflamed enough that the nail is rising off of the nail bed. The redness is localized to just the nail with no signs of inflamation moving up the finger or to any of the joints.

Hello,

It can be a septic finger which requires a physical examination by a physician. You keep it clean with Dettol wash and apply Soframycin. See a physician personally for proper physical examination and further treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
