What Causes Redness And Swelling In The Legs While On Tylenol?

Lower leg red and swollen, temperature 100, has been as high as 103.0 Monday. Saw Dr. on Monday, tests done ruled out everything but a virus, possibly caused by a tick or mosquito bite. They said, treat symptoms with Tylenol, rest and fluids. His leg has swollen more and is redder. What should I do to get the swelling and redness out of his leg.

Hi,

The symptoms seem to be related to thrombophlebitis which is an inflammation of a vein, usually in the leg. It usually needs antibiotics to relieve the symptoms. You should consult your doctor for prescribed antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
