What Causes Redness And Swelling In Elbow Crease?

I have developed a swelling about an inch and a half in diameter just below the crease on my inner arm below the elbow. It is reddish, warm, and hard to the feel. There is no apparent central hole, or bite mark. Should I be concerned. This has enlarged over the second day.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of redness and swelling in elbow crease. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like hair follicle infection, allergic reactions, lymphadenopathy , infection or venous insufficiency. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to elbow crease and take antihistamine like zyrtec and keep it elevated while sleeping . You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may will examine physically and order certain test like blood test and skin patch test. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications. Wear loose clothes. Avoid touching or pricking and avoid exposure to sunlight.
