What Causes Redness And Swelling After Having A Shot For Chicken Pox?

I'm 16 years old. To get registration for my school, i had to have the vaccine for Chicken pox. I had already had them so to prove it i would had to get a blood test. I'm am terrified by blood and asked if i could just get the vaccine instead. They said it was fine. So they gave me the shot, and the next day. where i got the shot, it hurts, is swollen, and very red. I was just wondering if this was normal or not.

Hi
welcome to HCM
Swelling and redness can occur after chickenpox vaccine , although it it usually does not occur, there is nothing to concern , it is normal , and you can safely take two doses of chickenpox vaccine , it is safe. ( Nowadays it is in fact 2 dose schedule of chickenpox ).
