What Causes Redness And Pain In Lower Back When Suffering From Cellulitis?

I have cellulitis and am on my 3rd day of antibiotic. The infected area is still very red, painful, & hot to the touch and I feel a lot of fluid deep under the surface although the infection/pus does not appear to be near the surface. The red area is not getting larger or smaller - can't notice any change yet. The affected area is on my lower back/upper buttocks. I'm wondering how to tell if it should be lanced?

Dear Friend
Welcome to Health care magic. I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I will shortly try to help you with my opinion.

Cellulitis is infection of skin involving depeer tissues. It needs a long course of antibiotics with good antibacterial coverage.

Alongwith you can take anti inflammatory drugs under supervision to reduce pain and swelling.

Hot fomentation also helps in pain and swelling reduction.

Based on the available details, this is my best advice for you. You should discuss with your doctor and share my opinion , I am sure he/she will agree to my opinion. If you wish to discuss the problem further with me , you may ask through section of PREMIUM query , directed on my name.
Stay Healthy.
