What Causes Reddish White Small Bumps On Tonsils?

Im getting over a mild flu, symptoms were mild fatigue and loss of appetite. My temp peaked at 100.3. The virus is in its third day but I feel much better than the first day. I looked inside my mouth and noticed the back wall of my throat with reddish white small bumps with one small white bump on each tonsil. I have had no pain from them nor any trouble swallowing but I began looking up every possible cause. Also my soft palate seems whitish yellow but it isn t thrush or anything removable. Now im scared it may be cancerous. Can you give me some info please? I have a scheduled doc appointment soon but the anxiety is making me crazy. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you had symptoms of flue and now you have reddish white spots on tonsils as well as back of the palate . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query but it seems to me that in your case either it can be tonsil stones (Tonsilloliths) or condition known as oral thrush . Sometimes during infection when immunity goes low person become susceptible to fungal infection like oral thrush . In some cases foreign bodies start collecting and become stone on tonsils . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day , do betadine gargles twice a day and consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe anti fungal ( fluconazole ) or remove stone with a small instrument under local anesthesia .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
