What Causes Reddish Itchy Bumps On Ankles?

We live in WA state and my husband was working outside hauling wood which was cut from 5 large fir and cedar trees that were being taken down in our yard. He developed a rash on his ankles which is now going up his legs. The bumps are red and slightly itchy just in on the outside and front of his legs. He said it feels like it is spreading.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that these bumps might be due to allergic reaction to some thing poisonous bite leading to redness, blister formation and itching.
Give antihistamine like Cetrizine or Benadryl for 2-3 days.
If there is some bacterial infection is likely then give him a course of antibiotic medicine for 3 days.
Apply triple action cream or vaseline on affected parts.
Ok and take care.
