What Causes Red Splotchy Rash In Between The Knee And Ankle?

I have a rash that started very heavy on my left calf knee to ankle. It was very dark red and splotchy. I am using blood thinners Pradaxa and was concerned that it might be a DVT. Now It has turned into a rash over most of my body, expecially back and arms and my other leg. Itches a lot. Looks like measles, but I am not sure.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red splotchy rash in between the knee and ankle. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like

-dry skin
- eczema
-contact dermatitis
- heat rash
-sweat dermatitis
-uncomfortable footwear or clothes.

Need not to worry. You should maintain good personal hygiene. Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesion. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes. Apply ice pack to reduce redness and itchiness. It is important to wear loose comfortable footwear and socks. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin , oral antifungal or antibacterial depending upon the diagnosis.
