It is a common infection and starts in a hair follicle or in an oil gland. It can become filled with pus which can pop on its own as well. It may last for a few days and settles down. As you were able to express the pus, it should now settle down faster. You can apply Fusidic acid cream/Neosporin cream to the boil for a week. You can find these creams in any local pharmacy.
