What Causes Red Itchy Spots On Vulva And Around Clitoris?

I have red itchy dots on my vulva and around my clitaris. They are tender and hurt. There is some discharge as well. Sometimes white, sometimes yellow. A few months ago I was treated for a yeast infection and then a few months later a bacterial infection. Neither was as uncomfortable as this and I didn t notice any red dots before.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear!

Thanks for consulting me at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon.
Causes of your condition may be:
1.Bacterial infection
2.Sexually Transmitted Disease
3.yeast Infection- causes being pregnancy, intercourse and weakened immune system
4.Menopause- causes thinning and drying of vaginal walls
5.chemical irritants etc

I have collected data from majority of my patients regarding their habits at home & based on that I can suggest a few tips for preventing and treating vaginal irritation at home:
Avoid scented pads or toilet paper, creams, bubble bath, feminine sprays, and douches.
Use water and a plain, unscented soap to regularly clean your external genital area. But don't wash more than once a day. Doing so can increase dryness.
Always wipe from front to back after having a bowel movement.
Wear cotton panties (no synthetic fabrics), and change your underwear every day.
Do not douche.
Use condoms during sexual intercourse to prevent sexually transmitted diseases.
If you are experiencing vaginal dryness, use a vaginal moisturizer. Apply a water-based lubricant (K-Y, Astroglide) before having sex.
Avoid sexual intercourse until your symptoms improve.
Don't scratch -- you can further irritate the area.

You should use fluconazole(diflucan) 150mg Per oral 1 daily plus Terconazole vaginal 0.4% one full applicatorful(5g) administer intravaginally once daily at bedtime for seven days.

May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback to help us assist you in a better way. Click at 'I Find This Answer Helpful' & give a five Stars too. Write a review about your experience with me.

You may ask me a direct question from my profile too, for further details and help on any health issue.
