What Causes Red Eyes?

Hi! had red yes for couple days now. this morning when I woke both eyes are blood shot red and my eye lids hurt only when touch them. did a warm compress. went to cvs clinic im out off town away from home they referred me to after hours fatility clinic just got out of class. what could this be

this may be allergic manifestation. may be having blepharitis. lid margin are to be examined. warm compression can be given. lid margins can be cleaned with sterile swab. neosporine eye ointment can be applied in lid margin if there is dandruff in eye brow, then it cabe treated with nizral solution.
