What Causes Red Dry Patches On Arms, Abdomen, Chest And Back?

I have red dry patches all over my arms, stomach, chest, sides and back. I ve gotten a little bit of Thai before a few months ago on my stomach but somehow they went away. These ones however, are worse than what they were. About a few weeks ago I was in a pool with chlorine in it and they came up on my arms. They went away about last week. I got out of the shower about 3 days ago and now I m covered in them. If this helps my dad has psoriasis. How can I get rid of them or what s the problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
From the presentation it seems you have psoriasis. Psoriasis is a benign chronic inflamatory disease. You have many areas covered with lesions that means more than 30% area. It is long treatment. If i have to treat such a patient i will advice The treatment of choice is out patient narowband UVB three times weekly.Cleering will occur in 7 weeks. The prcedure is use crude coal tar for many hours and exposure to UVB light. Tab Methotrexate weekly and tab folic 24 hours after words.
