What Causes Recurring Rash On Hips?

Hi I have had a rash on my hips since the end of Dec. It goes away with prednisone but returns time and again. I had allergy patch tests done by my dermatologist and it has come up negative for any chemical allergies. I am quite frustrated and do not want to take prednisone again. I want to know the cause not just treat symptoms. I should add that this all started with a bite on my left hip by what seemed to be a spider. I took an Levaquin at my MDs recommendation and broke out in a rash a few days later. It is now 3 months later and the rash is returning on both hips...sore and itchy. If you can offer me any advice or suggestions I would be grateful

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having some local skin infection like dermatitis or fungal infection.
Apply triple action or anti-fungal cream.
Take cetrizine or Benadryl for itching.
Keep local part clean, dry and airy.
Ok and take care.
