What Causes Recurring Petechiae?

Hi my husband has petechiae that keeps going away and coming back. He went out of the country to Guatemala for a missions trip and we thought he might have caught something there. I took him to the emergency room and they referred him to an infectious disease specialist. The infectious disease doctor told him he didn t think it was anything to worry about because the petechiae was clearing. It went away for a few days and his energy was restored back to normal, it has been gone for 3 days now. Today he noticed his energy low so he checked his legs and was covered in petechiae again. Do you know what could be causing this?

Hello,
Thanks for the query.
He might be having a low platelet count and hence he is developing these petechiae.
Get his platelet levels checked.
Usually it takes around 2 weeks for the petechiae heal,
He can use oint thrombophobe to get a faster relief.
A photograph would have helped me better.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
