What Causes Recurring Palpitations With Left Sided Shoulder Pain?

Hello, I went to the emergency room 2 days ago due to heart palpitations and dry throat and mouth. The dr diagnosed me with strep throat and im taking penicillin. My throat seems better but im not sure about the palpitations. They performed an EKG and said it was normal rythm just a little fast as if i had an energy drink. I do have symptoms of anxiety but have never been diagnosed. Today i felt as if my heart was beating really fast and now have pain in my left shoulder blade that i feel right under my collar bone. More like a sore feeling. I m just terrified something is wrong. I have a history of gallstones which i did not have surgery to remove

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

These could be palpitations due to the medications you are in, but I would still recommend a visit to your doctor for another EKG and monitoring. If at all there is something abnormal, then it should be found, but if not we can blame the antibiotics you are on and accordingly either change them or wait till the course is complete.

Best wishes
