What Causes Recurring Fever While On Treatment For Primary Stage Lung Cancer?

my father 66M has lung imfection for last 3 months . fever for last one and a half months it comes and goes regularly. lung infection now dignose as a primary stage cancer so he get his first cancer therapy by drips on 11/2/2014. but now even after that fever came 102. cant uderstand the reason ,we are very puzzled ,midle class family can afford costly treaent yet trying but we get deptessed by father's fever. please help.

I can understand your concern.
Lung cance patients have lower immunity.
So atypical bacterial, fungal and tubercular infections are very common in them.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done bronchoscopy and BAL (bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis.
BAL culture and sensitivity report is must.
Culture report will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide about effective antibiotic.
By this we can reduce the cost and improve the outcome.
