Hello Sir.. My name is David and 5 days ago I began having severe diarrhea off and on then yesterday I began throwing up my room mate had diarrhea also but it has left her. I m very weak and it seems everything I eat or drink comes right back out. My annus is so sore I really don t know how much more acid can go through it..My stomach churns and burns..I was taking previcid but have stopped due to this illness I m 54 and have always had good health. I can honestly say I have NEVER in my life been this sick.. would taking the previcid help?... and what is my next course of action... Thank you
You may go for routine blood count,electrolytes and stool examination with ultrasound abdomen and gastrointestinal tract endoscopy(or biopsy if required).
Treatment is mainly depend on the underlying cause but you may require antibiotics(ofloxacin with metronidazole) if infective, prebiotics and probiotics,antispasmodics, antacids,antiinflammatories etc with plentys of water and electrolytes replacement.
You consult your gastroenterologist for further advise immediately.
