What Causes Recurring Candidiasis In Throat?

My daughter is 17 yrs old . She had candidiasis in throat two years ago and Doctor said it was because of three courses of antibiotics that she had taken to heal her knee injury. Now after two years again she has the same infection . She has been advised to take Flucanazole 100 for 7 days, twice a day and Cap Providac.

My question is : Why is this infection happening again and again.

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain Candidiasis is a fungal infection and occurs commonly in those areas where there is low resistance or immunity..
When an individual takes antibiotics the good bacteria that are responsible for preventing supernumerary infections or opportunistic infections like candidiasis are also disrupted along with harmful bacteria leading to proliferation of opportunistic infections like Candidiasis or thrush..

As there must be some condition like reduced immunity due to some disease or fever or hormonal imbalance in body can lead to recurrence of thrush..

You should consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and in case of thrush get antifungal treatment like Fluconazole or Itraconazole taken for two weeks,Nystatin mouthwashes, antifungal lozenges and take more of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic..
Maintain a good oral hygiene and drink plenty of water..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
