What Causes Recurrent Sore White Bumps On Tonsils And Tongue?

I often get this white bumps on my tonsils. They're not sore, but I can sometimes feel them with my tongue when talking or they come up when I gargle. They are round little balls, solid but break apart easily as they're squishy and they smell bad
What is it? Why do I get them? Can I prevent/stop it?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain the white bumps on your tonsils are TONSIL STONES which are squishy or rubbery bumps present over tonsils and are formed by deposition of debris over the tonsils which gets calcified..
It can be associated with bad breath or with bad smell from that area due to infection and there can be tonsillitis associated with it and there can be sore throat..
They can at times be following the nerve pathway and can cause pain..
You should consult an ENT expert and get evaluated..
In case of tonsil stones the physician can remove them manually while large stones needs surgical removal if they cause discomfort and in your case if they get broken off by themselves then the best way to prevent them is maintaining a good hygiene..
You can do warm saline gargles and soda bicarb gargles for removing the debris from tonsils..
As there is bad breath a short course of antibiotics can be advised for resolving infection..
Gargles with chlorhexidine can also help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
