What Causes Recurrent Sinus Infection Causing Chest Congestion?

I have a 2 year history of getting sinus infections. I have been fighting one off and on since early September. Now it seems to be in my chest. I am coughing but not producing a lot of phlegm just coughing that sounds like it is loosening chest congestion. At what point should I call my doctor to get more help?

Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain it seems like either upper respiratory infection or bronchitis leading to coughing and phlegm production and it can be secondary to sinusitis causing post nasal drip..
You should take a course of antibiotics like Cephalexin,anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen, cough suppressants like Guaifenesin, decongestants like Phenylephrine and mucolytics like Ambroxol..
Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Take more of warm fluids and do warm compresses over chest.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
