What Causes Recurrent Pain In The Left Arm?

I have had recurring pain in my left arm, from the middle of the upper arm and down to the elbow, I can reach for things above my head, but trying to lift asomething heavy or use my arm to even make the bed, and all of a sudden shooting pain. What could it be? Muscle pull or strain? I hope it is not my shoulder.

Hi..

Thanks for contacting HCM for health query..

You have pain which is from the middle of the arm to the elbow that is making you decapitated..

You are right ,I too agree that the pain is not from shoulder..

Pain is from the mid arm to elbow,i feel it should be muscular origin because movements precipitate pain..

Madam since you have not given history of sudden excessive exertion,it could be Muscle catch..

If you remember a history of sudden unaccustomed severe muscle stretch it could be a muscle tear also.

If I have a patient like this in my outpatient department I would give him/her an analgesic, cold sponging and rest for a week, observe and then if pain continues I will proceed with MRI arm.

Madam meet a doctor in person as it is annoying you..

Hope our input helps you..

Take care.
