What Causes Recurrent Nausea, headaches And Cold Chills While On Acetaminophen?

I frequently have nausea, headaches, and alternating cold chills and hot flashes after eating. I ve been trying to limit dairy in case it s lactose intolerance, but the symptoms persist. I actually feel better if I don t eat! If not lactose intolerance, I m wondering if it could be a medication or supplement that I take either causing these issues on its own or interacting with another med. Also, I take acetaminophen every day. What is the definition of too much acetaminophen? If a medication is to blame, however, it doesn t explain why I feel worse after eating. I m a 52-year-old female, approximately 25 pounds overweight. I had a hysterectomy a little over a year ago, and I had a gastric bypass approximately 10 years ago.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent nausea, headaches and cold chills while on Acetaminophen which is because of viral infection to your body and impaired immunity of your body. It could be mono but symptoms are more of viral infection. Condition related to ear like meniere's disease , otitis media and inner ear infection . I would suggest you to start with course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. You should take combination of amoxicillin along with levocetrizine. Do warm saline gargles 3-4 times a day with lukewarm water. Take diet rich in fruits rich in vitamin C as it will boost his immunity. Avoid giving cold beverages. Keep him sipping lukewarm water whole day. Continue taking acetaminophen . If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start proper course of antibiotics.
