What Causes Recurrent Herpes Simplex Outbreaks?

I used to suffer from very frequent fever blisters ( herpes simplex) but none in the past 2 years. Then I got the shingles vaccine 4 mos ago and have had many recurrent outbreaks since then, at least 5 in the past 5 mos. Is this related because it seems suspicious to me on the timing. Thank you

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Please get tested for the immunocompromised disease. if you get repeated infection, then suspicious diseases like HIV, tuberculosis etcetera can be possible.

If you are using long-term steroids, this also can cause repeated infection. So, kindly get evaluated on this basis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. ARCHANA
