What Causes Recurrent Dizziness And Pain In The Neck?

I have frequent, severe pain in by neck at the top of my spine. My doctor prescribed muscle relaxers, and they seemed to help for a few weeks, but my main issue is seemingly associated with this: whenever I bend over, and then right myself, I am VERY, VERY light headed, and often dizzy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to CHM.
Neck pain associated with dizziness on movement of neck. This can be caused by some vestibule (inner eat related disease) or cervical vertigo.
I recommend doing Vestibular tests and MRI of neck to rule out these causes.
Is it associated with other symptoms like headache, fever ,earache that may be due to middle eat infections, meningitis etc?
Further management will depend upon the cause.
You therefore need to visit an ENT surgeon or neurologist.
Some conservative measures can be followed -
Hot/cold compress to neck muscle.
Avoiding turning sudden movement of neck and head, slowly changing the positions of body while lying on bed or while getting up.
Muscle relaxants like baclofine, vanlafaxine to be taken under physician's supervision.
Thanks and regards.
