What Causes Recurrent Abdominal Cramps And Diarrhea?

I keep having cramps in the same place EVERYTIME after I eat. They are usually within 10 to 30 minutes after I eat. They are always below my belly button in my intestines. They are excruciating and I always have to run to the bathroom within that 10 to 30 min period. It does not matter what I eat, it happens everytime. Most of the time my stool is either very tore up or diarrhea. But occasionally it is formed. Every once in a blue moon I am constipated, but 99 % of the time I have the tore up or diarrhea. I have lost 35 pounds since October. Sometimes the cramps and diarrhea hit when I am real stressed out.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of recurrent abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroenteritis , food poisoning , irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal Ileus, lactose intolerance , giardiasis . Need not to worry. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate body. For now eat light and non spicy , avoid food like sea food and nuts , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , ultrasound , endoscopy along with that take history . Doctor may prescribe laxative , ornidazole or albendazole , anaspas along with ranitidine . Avoid laying on bed after immediately having food.
