What Causes Recurrent UTI?

I've had a few symptoms of a uti for years now, it comes and goes, Everywhere I go they say it's a uti or something of that short, they give me pills and it doesn't help. It burns when I urinate often. Sometimes it'll hurt up to an hour or so.. I googled it , which I know is never a smart thing but I think I found out what could be! I don't have insurance and I'm working all the time, and like i said it goes away for a few months and comes back for a few months.. I found a website that was talking about IC, it's something that women get but its not very common.. My question is what exactly is IC, could that be what i have? And what is something I can do to prevent it or to help it?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
First of all Urinary infection is a very common condition specially in females, this is due ti shorter urethra in females as compared to males. So in females with low immunity, poor hygiene maintenance can often lead to Recurrent urinary tract infections. Recurrent UTIs can also be due to kidney stones that get passed & cause injury to Urinary tract.

Interstitial cystitis (IC) or painful bladder syndrome is a un common condition & should be suspected if problem is not caused by urinary tract infection or kidney stones. In this bladder does not empty fully after urination & causes pain and pressure below your belly button.
First of all you should keep good personal hygiene. Drinking ample amount of water ( 3-4 litre daily ) can also help to keep UTIs away.

If problem persist visit a urologist
Hope this information helps
