What Causes Recurrence Of Migraine During Pregnancy?

I am a migraine sufferer and 38 weeks pregnant. Pre-pregnancy I would get regular menstrual migraines. I have had no migraines for the rest of the pregnancy but I woke up this morning with a migraine. It won't go away. My blood pressure is fine. What could be causing this please?

Hi welcome to HCM...

You have migraine history ....

I considered that you might had confirmed migraine by doctor with detailed history and examination....

Sometime hormonal fluctuation might lead migraine precipitation....

Here this time for migraine ibuprofen like drug taken for headache relief ..If needed higher drug can be taken like rizatriptan ....

To avoid repeated migraine try to avoid precipitating factors for migraine like .....
-stress
-smoking
-lack of sleep
-skipped meal
-hypoglycemia
-loud noise
-bright light etc ....

If still repeated attack there amitryptillin like prophylactic drug need to be given ...

Take rest in cool and dark area when headache ....

Topical basal leave oil application useful ....

You can consult psychiatrist or physician for this ...

Hope I have solved your concern ...

Take care .

Happy to help you further ....
